Job Description Summary:

The Purchasing Representative will be responsible to execute the creation of strategic sourcing and supply chain processes to contribute to the growth and profitability of the company. Schedule job production following receipt of sales acknowledgment and raw material lead time.

General Responsibilities:

· Execute and manage supplier purchase orders to achieve the production build plans and schedule

· Ensure clear communication of expectations and priorities with suppliers

· Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to ensure the best prices and options amongst suppliers

· Ensure Suppliers adhere to company needs in lead time, labelling and packing requirements, and receiving process

· Maintain supplier ship from locations and utilize load sharing to maximize inbound freight efficiency

· Schedule and hire inbound freight according to production needs

· Manage purchasing requirements for product changes, substitutions, and alternatives

· Analyze and maintain inbound freight expenses, purchased inventory usages, and on hand inventory requirements are within company tolerance

· Manage supplier returns and resolve material receipt issues in a timely manner with internal stakeholders and the supplier in accordance with production needs

· Resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure inventory accuracy and supplier payment within agreed terms

· Verify and approve invoices for payment within agreed terms

· Manage purchased parts inventory, including slow moving, excess, or obsolete material to ensure that material stock is used timely and effectively

· Manage and communicate forecast updates, supplier contract issues, quality and delivery issues that require escalation for resolution

· Maintain accurate production schedules based on sales orders and estimates, utilization of raw materials, customer needs, and shipping capability

· Comprehend and make recommendations about where scheduling improvements can be made

· Provide solutions and quick responses to production related issues

· Maintain point of contact between production and sales and communicate any changes

· Identify process problems and help continually improve production processes

· Other related duties as required

· Experience in purchasing or supply chain management

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
