The Albert C. Wiltshire Employment Center recruits qualified candidates for positions within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 300-acre industrial park housing over 400+ businesses within the manufacturing, food, media, technology, and creative fields
A Brooklyn Navy Yard-based construction management and general contracting firm is seeking a Project Manager to lead and support a project construction team or assigned team and oversee the management of assigned project direction, planning, completion, and financial outcome. This position reports to the Project Executive.
The Project Manager is responsible for directing and mentoring on-site staff. The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and team building skills. This list is not all inclusive and is meant to highlight responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and/or coordinate personnel and resources for the project
- Assist with preconstruction efforts
- Manage all aspects of project from inception thru completion
- Prepare and execute company development and construction plan
- Prepare trade contracts and bid packages, as well as oversee procurement process
- Oversee the shop drawing, submittal, and construction coordination process
- Plan and coordinate the project in conduction with the Superintendent
- Oversee performance of project including, project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems
- Maintain relationships designers, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors
- Attend and lead project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award
- Impeccable attention to detailed documentation protocols
- Review inspection and test data for compliance with specifications
- Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Superintendent
- Oversee all site safety programs in conjunction with safety consultant and Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires Engineering, Construction Management or related bachelor’s degree, OR possess at least 5 years equivalent years of related experience preferably in core/shell and interiors. Thorough understanding of industry and NY Metro market.
- Requires working knowledge of various construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings and other documents required.
- Ability to work with and have knowledge of the shop drawing submittal process. read and comprehend building plans and specifications and able to comprehend and recognize safety standards and issues.
- Requires the ability to determine the priority of assignments based on critical deadlines.
- Requires the ability to resolves field-initiated questions.
- Requires understanding of construction contracts, retention, releases.
- Must possess strengths in verbal and written communications; ability to adapt communications/presentations and deliver clear and concise reports and analysis to senior management.
- Requires ability to meet deadlines and work in a structured corporate environment.
- Requires the ability to be self-motivated and work independently with minimal supervision. Also requires high degree of ethics and integrity.
- Requires ability to maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information.
- Excellent critical path construction scheduling experience
- Strong experience using MS Office as well currently using Procore
- Excellent time management skills, ability to react and shift priorities simultaneously to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, along with experience using Procore or similar project management platforms.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
