We are looking for a Project Assistant : to join the housing development team in the development of multi-family affordable and supportive housing projects for formerly homeless, special needs, and low-income households in Santa Clara, San Mateo and Alameda counties. Position will be based in Oakland.

Remote arrangement: : 4 days remote per week (Thursdays in office). Required to travel to project sites in the Bay Area periodically.

Responsibilities: :
    • Assist Project Manager in researching, preparing, and monitoring project budgets and schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Work with Project Manager to secure all required governmental and utility approvals including entitlements and building permits.
    • Draft, coordinate, and compile funding applications to private and government sources.
    • Research and report on regulatory requirements applicable to the design, financing/feasibility and management of low income housing projects.
    • Coordinate and facilitate documentation of loan closings.
    • Draft project update and summary reports as needed.
    • Generate meeting minutes at project management meetings with project team.
    • Draft PowerPoint presentations.

Qualifications: :
    • At least 1 year experience in affordable housing development, policy, design, or related field required.
    • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, Urban Studies, Planning, Architecture or related field preferred.
    • Strong interest in affordable housing development.
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks across projects and meet deadlines. Proactive approach to daily tasks.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficiency using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Acrobat PDF.
    • Reliable transportation, current and valid CA Driver’s License and Insurance required.
