BHE GT&S has an exciting Program Mgr., Safety Compliance in our White Oaks General Office Building located in Bridgeport, WV.In this role you will
- Ensure the development implementation and administration of safety and regulatory compliance programs for all company facilities, including compressor stations, pipeline locations, and/or natural gas liquid plants.
- Ensure safe work methods, training programs, policies and procedures are compliant with federal state OSHA regulatory agencies and company requirements.
- Lead, facilitate, and support the investigation and root cause analysis of safety related events.
- Keep leadership updated on new regulatory mandates and industry safety & health events and trends.
- Perform studies and investigations to ensure compliance with federal (OSHA and NFPA- National Fire Protection Agency) , state, and local safety and health standards and regulations including those involving industrial hygiene and public safety.
- Identify, evaluate and abate potential workplace hazards.
- Take appropriate actions to reduce or eliminate unsafe conditions.
- Investigate accidents and injuries and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Interpret and communicate safe work methods and compliance requirements as mandated by federal state and OSHA regulatory agencies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for OSHA compliance requirements such as: employee safety training, control of hazardous energy, confined space entry, fall protection, electrical safety/ NPFA 70E, hazardous atmospheres, industrial hygiene, hearing conservation/noise monitoring, airborne contaminants abatement safe hazardous materials handling, safety data sheets, and first aid/emergency medical resources.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Telematics and Smith System driver safety criteria.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Systematic Cause and Analysis Technique for the review and investigation of injuries, accidents, and significant events and near misses.
- Serve as subject matter expert for Human Performance Improvement as it pertains to latent organization failures, human error, error precursors, and human performance defenses.
- Facilitate maintenance and use of electronic reporting systems to include Geotab, Veriforce, and the Guardian database for near misses and safety observations.
- Conduct sight assessments and audit current safety programs.
- Oversee Contractor and First Line Supervisor safety training.
- Develop and incorporate new programs related to safety and compliance.
- Maintain and distribute monthly reports relating to safety performance and trends.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to facilitate post-injury management, including working closely with staff physical therapist as it pertains to soft tissue injuries.
- May be a liaison between Legal department, Workers’ Compensation (WC) carrier, and medical staff regarding OSHA regulatory interpretations and WC /case management.
- Significant directly related experience is required (typically 7/8+ years).
- Demonstrates full knowledge of federal and state safety regulations and company policies and requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of plant safety programs, fire protection, work methods and training to ensure and promote a safety conscious workforce.
- Skilled in the interpretation and application of federal and state safety regulations.
- Skilled communicator, ability to effectively communicate with state and federal officials, management and staff.
- Proven ability to effectively evaluate and identify workplace hazards or safety violations.
- Ability to determine the course of action required to eliminate workplace safety hazards and ensure federal and state compliance.
- Ability to effectively direct and oversee safety studies and investigations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills required.
- Previous work experience, demonstrating full knowledge and application of federal and state safety regulations and OSHA requirements.

Preferred Licenses, Certifications, Qualifications or Standards
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Prof. (CSP)
