Production Supervisor is responsible for direction of employees involved in production, assembly, subassembly or operations in the Truss plant. Reviews production schedules, material and staffing resources. Assigns employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements while maintaining safe working conditions in production areas. Participates in establishing and modifying operations methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment and procedures. Informs employees of production and material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve problems affecting schedules. Responsible for cycle counts of lumber inventory. Maintains necessary reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance and methods. Assist in the recruiting and training of operations associates. Manage facility, equipment and vehicles, yard and grounds to ensure a safe, OSHA compliant work environment. Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: Requires college degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Warehouse and yard operations environment with some physical exertion. Performs some duties under seasonal environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: Requires 5 years production experience, including 2-3 years supervisory experience in a production facility. Skill requirements include leadership, organization, problem-solving and effective communication and proficiency in utilizing computer software applications necessary for performing job responsibilities.
