The Stow Company is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Production Scheduling Supervisor for our manufacturing facility located in Nampa, Idaho. We are the country’s premier source for custom closets and organizational solutions; designed, custom-cut, and shipped to our clients. Demand for The Stow Company’s products has driven the need to add another highly automated manufacturing facility that requires dedicated, highly motivated, and technically competent professionals to join their dynamic team.

Primary Purpose of Position:

Under supervision of the PICS Manager, performs supervisory, technical, and administrative duties in the materials planning and scheduling operations. This position is directly responsible for leading a dedicated team of planning and scheduling specialists to meet on-time delivery to our end customers, highlight and communicate risks to that schedule, and manage performance indicators for the team. The Scheduling Supervisor position offers a challenging opportunity requiring quick thinking, problem solving, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Plans and directs the material planning and scheduling team to meet the facility build plan objectives and satisfy customer needs
• Responsible for providing leadership, direction, and resolution for the plant planning and plant scheduling team
• This position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports. Develops staff skills and Lean approaches to daily operations. Selects, trains, and assists direct reports while providing career guidance and opportunity for added experience.
• Work with Engineering and Product teams as a department lead for new product development by bringing the voice of the production floor to the discussions. Will also work with area Schedulers to organize special builds to meet internal deadlines
• Interacts with Purchasing, Planning, and Production to identify and resolve challenges that impact the production schedule
• Coordinate with Customer Service on customer order changes (eg: quantity, delivery date, material) when inside the frozen production window and make adjustments with the area Scheduler(s) and Transportation
• Generate daily or weekly production reports to managers for critical decision-making purposes
• Assist management to resolve problems with late shipments, material shortages, customer schedule changes, and cancellations of customer orders.
• Implements standard work, documentation of standard work, and accountability for processes within the planning and scheduling team.
• Works cooperatively to develop new ideas and enhance procedures in the team. Foster continuous improvement thru automation of processes and improvement/development to drive efficiency for the planning and scheduling team.
• This person will back up the PICS Manager in the event of vacation, absence, etc.
• Special Projects as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• Four-year college degree preferred but not required based on experience
• 3-5 years working experience in manufacturing, scheduling, or production at a similar organization
• Familiarity with ERP systems

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally to The Stow Company
• Must have excellent customer service skills; including strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel in an office and a manufacturing environment
• Ability to take the initiative and work well independently with little supervision, and as part of a team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Sitting at workstation approximately 80 percent of work time
• Standing and walking approximately 20 percent of work time
• Must be able to travel between plant and office locations
• Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice
• Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces
• Manufacturing environment with multiple machinery and moving parts

The Stow Company may temporarily assign any team member with duties outside of their normal responsibilities. Such assignments may be warranted due to a variety of specific requirements, conditions and/or the capabilities of available personnel. Management will determine the nature and duration of those assignments.
