GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Create, support, and maintain production schedule for shop floor operations.
REPORTS TO: Materials Manager
SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the use of office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and telephones. Normal hearing, speech and vision range required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
Requires interaction within the factory environment daily, and appropriate PPE must be worn.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize, create, and maintain master production schedule. Create, enters, and maintains customer forecasts.
- Enters production jobs, orders, and customer requirements to determine delivery schedules to meet deadlines. Develop and monitor daily production schedules to meet the master production schedule. Determines production priorities by studying master production schedule and customer requirements.
- Monitor production and compares progress to schedule. Resolves scheduling problems and coordinates solutions. Monitors daily press sheets to note production changes.
- Coordinates with master scheduler capacity levels and schedules accordingly. Level loading as applicable.
- Review requirements for production materials from vendors (components, raw materials, and sub-contractors) and issues weekly releases.
- Reviews incoming steel and adjusts receipts and jobs as required.
- Follow-up receipts of incoming materials to ensure production schedules can be maintained.
- Continual communication with master scheduler to maintain on time job start dates to meet customer requirements.
- Communicates with customers as necessary on production deliveries working with customer service to provide continual up-to-date information.
- Work with shipping and receiving to schedule all customer orders at time of shipment in coordination with shipping.
- Monitors specific customer tote/ container requirements and communicates with customer, production, and warehouse/shipping.
- Communicate with customers, production department, shipping department, and other managers regarding production schedule issues or problems. Assist with problem-solving regarding schedules.
- Work closely with materials group (materials manager, schedulers, master scheduler, customer service and quality) to maintain schedule and delivery to customer and develop best practices.
- Monitor parts and material inventory to implement inventory turns as applicable by product line.
- Ability to multi-task between scheduling, customer service and material requirements.
- Act as back –up for other scheduler and customer service.
- Assist with problem-solving regarding schedules.
- Prepares daily production reports.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred. Previous experience planning/scheduling experience strongly preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while performing duties in production areas.
- Maintain organized schedules and filing.
- Computer literacy and data entry knowledge.
