Briggs & Stratton is seeking a Product Sales Specialist for our Turf & Consumer business based out of the Houston area. This position supports sales growth by demonstrating Ferris brand commercial mowers, training customers and helping develop new accounts in the assigned area. This position is remote, but must reside in the territory it covers - which includes (but is not limited to): Hartford, CT, Stamford, CT, Bedford Hills, NY, Poughkeepsie, NY, Red Hook, NY, Amherst, MA and Longmeadow, MA.
Position Description
The Product Sales Specialist’s responsibility is to build the Ferris Commercial Products brand awareness by demonstrating Ferris Commercial Zero Turn Mowers, Walk Behind Mower, Stand On Mowers and Spreader Spraying equipment to Landscapers, Municipalities, School Districts and Parks & Recreation Departments in assigned area. You would also support local Ferris Power Equipment dealers and Territory Sales Managers.
Job Responsibilities
- Quickly become a Ferris product subject matter expert, being proficient in explaining features and benefits of Ferris products and performing demonstrations to the end users.
- Generate leads through various sites including Instagram & Facebook generating interest with landscapers and developing conversations that result in a demonstration.
- Drive a pickup truck and landscape trailer with Ferris equipment to the locations that the end user agrees to and let the customer experience the Ferris product first hand by using it on familiar turf.
- Work directly with our Ferris dealers and develop a relationship with them to gain territory knowledge and competitive industry insights. Assisting your Ferris dealers with sales & open house events.
- Participate in various external events, i.e trade shows and fairs to support the Ferris brand and products.
- Conduct training at the Ferris dealerships teaching new employees features & benefits of the Ferris products as well as company programs, process and procedures.
- Analyze market data to pinpoint opportunities in assigned territory to maximize prospecting efforts and develop strategies on how Ferris performs against the competition.
- Attend the National Sales Meeting in Milwaukee at the Briggs & Stratton Headquarters annually to meet and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
- Attend regional meetings in various company locations when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Requirements
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse group of people. Bilingual in English & Spanish.

Education
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one year of related experience in sales, customer service, retail, etc.
- Ability to become DOT certified upon hire.
