A cross-functional support role serving as a technical liaison between Innovation, Quality Assurance (QA) and Procurement in the handling of raw material supplier approval and compliance at the direction of the Quality Systems & Technical Services Administrator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)
- Acts as the liaison between Innovation, QA and Procurement for raw material supplier evaluations and approvals
- Receives, logs and handles supplier-provided samples of raw materials to be evaluated for procurement approval
- Conducts and reports laboratory and sensory tests of prospective and existing raw materials
- Coordinates supplier compliance with QA and Innovation requirements for new raw materials, including specifications and key certifications (e.g., organic, Non-GMO, HACCP, Kosher, etc.)
- Assists Procurement in identification, evaluation and cataloging of potential alternate suppliers of new and existing raw materials
- Maintains a database of approved raw material suppliers
- Maintains a nutrition database for current ingredients
- Organize and maintain electronic information
- Attends professional and/or educational seminars or conferences as approved (e.g., PMA, IFT, JPA, ICBC, etc.)
- Research topics including ingredients, products, and process technologies as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
