Job Summary
The Procurement Manager will take the lead in the negotiation and contracting for the procurement of goods, works and services for renewable energy projects. Working in line with the company Mission and the Procurement team’s agreed strategy and processes, the Procurement Manager will provide expertise and support to the wider business to ensure compliant and efficient purchasing and contracting of goods, works and services. It will also require collaboration across multiple internal teams and stakeholders. A flexible approach will be required to support the range of expected requests.
As this role works with our external suppliers and subcontractors the successful candidate will be responsible for setting a personal example for the business conduct with our partners.
Key Accountabilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Supporting the UK&I business by efficiently providing high quality procurement of goods, works and services.
- Working with our existing suppliers, consultants and sub-contractors and, from time to time, identifying and on-boarding new suppliers.
- Adherence to, and promotion of, existing Procurement strategies and processes.
- Preparing tender packages, tendering and awarding small works contracts, consultancy agreements, large capital contracts, supply of goods agreements and purchase orders including bid evaluation.
- Maintaining a close working relationship with the wider procurement team to share feedback on supplier performance.
Knowledge
- In depth understanding of goods, works and service contracts, how they are structured and how they operate.
- Solid understanding of renewable energy technologies, in particular Wind Turbines, Solar Modules, Power Conversion Systems and Batteries.
- Understanding of the renewable energy subcontracting industry would be an advantage.
- Awareness of the importance of HSQE requirements.
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar procurement role is required.
- Contract negotiation experience is required.
- Contract drafting experience is required.
Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to represent RES credibly with suppliers and contractors and, potentially, with our clients.
- Excellent attention to detail and accountability for delivery.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines, multi-task and respond quickly to requests.
- Completer / finisher.
Qualifications
- Degree / relevant contractual qualifications OR equivalent experience in a procurement role.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
