GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for executing chemical risk management related projects. Monitors and coordinates compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP), and California Accidental Release Program (CalARP) regulations that may impact MATHESON products and production facilities.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implements applicable PSM, RMP, and CalARP compliance programs to ensure full compliance with corporate policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Develops and organizes PSM, RMP, and CalARP training to applicable employees and contractors.
Assists with the developing and maintaining Management of Change (MOC) programs for applicable facilities.
Ensure Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) are conducted and documented as required by applicable regulations.
Perform Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) on required processes and required intervals.
Conduct and manage required compliance audits related to PSM, RMP, and CalARP programs.
Assists as primary contact during any regulatory inspections related to PSM, RMP, or CalARP regulated facilities.
Update and develop the required program elements and corporate procedures related to PSM, RMP, CalARP.
Manage task (deliverables) within timelines and able to manage your own time to meet MATHESON’s profitability objectives.
Ability to understand and perform offsite consequence analysis.
Possess knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding handling of acutely hazardous materials and general industrial safety
Possess knowledge of flammable gas systems with the ability to quickly understand design and operation of other highly hazardous chemical processes as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related technical discipline is recommended. Applicant should possess a minimum of one year of PSM, RMP, and CalARP experience including a covered manufacturing process with direct involvement with PSM, RMP and CalARP.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Work from Home options possible but not preferred.
Office Environment with occasional exposure to adverse conditions.
Must be willing and able to travel by air or vehicle to required locations
Previous experience with PSM, RMP, and CalARP regulations.
Knowledge of PSM, RMP, CalARP regulations.
Ability to work well with others as an effective team player.
Understand and determine risks associated with liquid and compressed gases.
Knowledge and skill set to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), electrical drawings, facility siting studies, Safety Data Sheets and other applicable safety standards.
PHA Leader training
Skill set to lead and document team discussions related to PHAs.
Must have a succinct technical writing style.
