Pool Operator/Lifeguard $16-20 per hour

Beautiful Manor Country Club is a private member-owned country club established in 1922, located in Rockville, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC. The club’s 850 member families enjoy two golf courses, an 18 hole championship course designed by Arthur Hills and an executive 9 hole course, indoor and outdoor tennis, fitness, pool and bocce facilities. The club features a formal dining room and lounge, two casual areas, pool and golf course snack bars, and banqueting facilities for 250.
The Pool Operator and Lifeguard positions are seasonal positions and report to the Manor Country Club Aquatics Director. The Aquatic facilities are open to our members from Memorial Day through Labor Day, 7 days a week.
Perform lifeguarding and pool operator duties as required.
Multiple shifts for a facility open seven days a week, ranging from 7:00am-10:00 pm
Duties for Pool Operator/Supervisor
- Responsible for the day to day supervision of Aquatic Facility with great customer care , under the direction of the Aquatics Director.
- Lifeguard responsibilities[SP1]
- Responsible for the shift supervision of 5-8 lifeguard team members
- Responsible for the diagnosis and report of facility mechanical issues
- Position reports directly to Aquatics Director for daily/weekly task completion and responsibilities
- Training is available and provided for the right candidate
- Supervise staff, direct operations and provide constructive feedback for growth
- Punctual, organized and able to work individually or within a team environment
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to learn and develop skills in mechanical systems, supervision of staff
- Must be available to work Weekdays, Weekends and holidays. hours are dependent on daily tasks and can fluctuate throughout the season
Duties for lifeguard
- Greet and check in members and guests using facilities
- Ensure the safety of facility patrons. Report any hazardous or unsafe conditions to Pool Manager.
- Uses tact to inform/communicate with guests pool and Club rules
- Prevents injuries by minimizing and eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors in and around the swimming pools. Remains alert and provides constant and thorough surveillance of area of responsibility.
- Recognizes and responds to all emergencies.
- Administers first aid and CPR when needed.
- Provides emergency care.
- Enforces and abides by all facility and pool rules and regulations.
- Provides excellent customer service by directing swimmers, instructors, coaches, and GP faculty and students to proper lanes, locker rooms, etc., provides answers to questions, and maintains a safe, clean, and friendly environment.
- Keeps all CPR, Lifeguarding Training, and First Aid certifications up-to-date and current at all times.
- Assists in maintaining the general appearance of the aquatic area including pool, surrounding deck, pump room, and equipment room
- Supports the Aquatic Director, Pool operator and Manor club staff to perform related duties as required or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must possess a current, up-to-date certification in American Red Cross
Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Community First Aid or equivalent.
Responsible for keeping all required certifications up-to-date and current.
Must possess the physical ability to perform all required lifeguard duties and pass in-service training drills.
Education and Experience
Must be at least 16 years of age, have current certification, and experience is preferable.
- Preferred Candidates have experience in Aquatics or other facility management fields
License/Certification:
- Pool Operator: Montgomery County Pool Operators training (required)
- Lifeguard Training (Required)
· Lifeguard: 1 year (Preferred)
Desirable Qualifications
Previous lifeguarding experience and customer service experience.
Special Requirements
SEASONAL POSITION
Ability to work for special events, weekends, and holidays.
May be required to work early mornings on weekdays starting at 7 .
