Job Description

The plating department technician works closely with the department lead and other department employees in various tasks for the plating department. They assist with startup and shutdown of machinery and make adjustments as needed. This individual will performance maintenance and tests on tank fluids and assist with repairs when necessary.

Summary

  • Pay: up to $20 per hour
  • 6a-4:30 Monday through Thursday and optional overtime on Fridays
  • Must have some plating experience
  • Willing to be self-motivated
  • Foster a culture of safety by practicing safe work habits, participating in safety trainings, wearing PPE and instructing team members to wear appropriate PPE for their tasks

Duties and responsibilities

  • On/off-bear parts to and from plating machine and oven and pack properly
  • Assist in the startup and shutdown of machinery ·
  • Make proper adjustments to amps as calculated or as instructed by Plating Department Lead needed
  • Apply lacquer, solvents and other material per specification
  • Change fluid in tanks as required
  • Perform tests on tank fluids and treated water and adjust chemistry as necessary to maintain specifications
  • Perform quality checks and record all necessary quality data
  • Identify necessary production rates as indicated on job traveler packet ·
  • Maintain an accurate count of work pieces completed
  • Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required
  • Respond to chemical spills and provide SDS information to emergency responders in the event of an emergency ·
  • Assist in other areas of production when needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
