Purpose/Introduction
Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Plant Shift Coordinator to join our team out our Port Arthur facility. The Plant Shift Coordinator directs and coordinates plant operations in accordance with the operating plan, supervises the personnel assigned to the shift, and ensures actions of shift are aligned with the business plan.
Responsibilities
- Follows safe work practices, basic operations procedures and contributes to a safe work culture
- Follows the Tenets of Operations, COO/OD, and Life Saving Rules
- Ensures the team follows all safety/environmental policies, procedures, and practices
- Addresses all safety and environmental issues promptly
- Serves as a role model for safety and compliance
- Ensures the team follows operating plans and practices
- Plans and coordinates maintenance with operations/maintenance coordinator
- Assists operators with a timely turnover of equipment to maintenance
- Ensures equipment is received from maintenance and returned to service safely and efficiently
- Works with the PSM/training coordinator to develop an effective and productive team
- Supports performance evaluation, positive relationships, and consistent use of policies
- Keeps operators up to date on training requirements
- Maintains communications between teams and other business units
- Runs the team in producing high-quality products
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 5 years of direct related experience
- Solid safety behaviors, leadership, planning, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift
Preferred Qualifications
- Operations experience in boilers, ethylene or aromatics processes
- Supervisory or Head Operator experience
