- Evaluates all production activities and monitors and prepares reports. Inspect all associate plant machines and equipment. Perform regular audit on all safety control programs.
- Responsible for effective personnel management including supervisor and employee training and development.
- Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.
- Practices and communicates the Company’s Desired Leadership Style; sets expectation for subordinates that promulgate its principles.
- Directs and manages maintenance department functions and personnel during the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Superintendent
- Maintains company reputation by complying with government regulations and adhering to company principals and guidelines. Stays current with related regulations, industry standards, integrity assessment methods, repair methods, and other federal, state and local codes and regulations, trends, and developments pertaining to this activity by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
- Keeps abreast of all federal, state and local and bargaining unit regulations laws and the organization’s policies and procedures. Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
- Establishes standards and policies for pollution control, installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
- Provides and enforces appropriate safety rules and procedures at all times. Complies with all written safety rules and procedures and reports all unsafe acts and conditions and correct those within authority. Completes all EH&S training requirements.

- Oversees maintenance of plant buildings and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; follows manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requests special services.
- Complies with all applicable MIC and Hawaii Gas policies and procedures.
- Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner; performs housekeeping duties as required and/or instructed. Works in a safe and responsible manner.
- Performs all other related duties as instructed by supervisor/manager.
Minimum Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent education.
- 1-4 years of in-field engineering experience.
- Proficient in the MS Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MS Project, AutoCAD.
- Working experience in a Union environment.
Preferred Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical and/or mechanical engineering.
- 5-7 years of field experience in the petrochemical or energy industry
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
- A valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in Hawaii.

Working Conditions/Environment:
- Work may include trouble shooting and/or analysis of plant equipment in the process area, exposed to heat and noise.
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Work may require occasional weekend, evening or call-out work.
