HOW YOU LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Be responsible for performing basic accounting activities within a plant finance organization. Accounting activities performed may include:
    • Posting, summarizing, reconciling, auditing, ledger maintenance, and statement and/or report preparation.
    • Constructing the monthly closing statements relating to the processing operation.
  • Support the Plant Controller in the preparation of monthly accounting information, as well as, the annual budget, overhead rates, and standard revision.
  • Support the Plant Controller with corporate requests to ensure company s ability to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Compile documentation supporting the plant s adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley Act control requirements and submit the same in a timely manner.
  • Maintain good technical skills with the personal computer and software available in order to provide support in the preparation of the accounting information for both local and corporate levels.
  • Support the Plant Controller in maintaining the information systems, including updating standards and other accounting information in order to maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Support the Plant Controller in maintaining Fixed Asset Ledger and submitting changes in a timely manner.
  • Be accountable for the construction of closing statements for the Sparta Processing Operations.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist in the initial review of manufacturing variances.
  • Assist in maintaining the Sparta processing Accounting System by updating cost files and assisting in the investigation of processing variances.
  • Assist Plant Controller in estimates of processing variances and in the preparation of the annual budget, overhead rates, and standard revision.
  • Review product costing estimates related to the quoting process for new business.
  • Enter New Product Bill of Materials, maintain and track changes to BOM s and adjustments made to inventory.
  • Provide information on special request and assist in special projects.
  • Provide backup support to hourly payroll functions as necessary.
  • Additional duties and roles include accounting budgetary control, financial forecasting programs for the plant, monitor inventory, operating budgets, and tracking purchasing.
  • All other assignments deemed necessary while under the direction of the Plant Controller.

YOUR KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • You have a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting
  • Working knowledge of PC programs included in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably PLEX.
  • Working knowledge of the products and their flow through the manufacturing process.
  • Working knowledge of company accounting and control policies and procedures.
  • Adaptable to change and the pursuit of continuing education of plant products and the technological advancements of the processing operation as it relates to the financial segment.
