NEEDED: PHARMACIST


LOCATION: 5701 8th Street Camp-Park, Dublin, CA 94568

SCHEDULE: 30 hours per week, six (6) sessions per day, five (5) days a week excluding Federal holidays. Pharmacist Services shall be conducted between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • US CITIZEN
  • Must hold a current license that permits him/her to practice and to perform Pharmacy Services in the State of California
  • Must have obtained a graduate degree of Pharmacist, be eligible for Board Certification,
  • Shall be knowledgeable of all infection control techniques and be able to apply them.
  • Must have workable knowledge in the use of computers and software applications.
  • Use of BEMR knowledge is preferred, but not required as part of selection. On-the-job BEMR training will be provided

Must be able to provide a copy of the following documents:

  • Current CV / resume
  • Completed National Practitioner Data Bank Query with letter of explanation for any malpractice cases
  • Proof of education
  • Proof of postgraduate
  • Proof of residency training
  • Copy of board certification
  • Two letters of reference

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Pharmacist shall provide professional services, consultation, recommendations, and expertise in the field of Pharmacist for the inmate population, as well as all technical support functions within the Pharmacist.
  • Will interpret medical and dental prescriptions, transcribe prescriptions into the pharmacy’s prescription computer system, print prescription labels, select, and fill prescribed medication.
  • Will assist with inventory and maintaining medications and supplies in the pharmacy from the main storage stock. Assist in reordering of medication and supplies
  • Issue supplies to other areas within Health Services
  • Assist in administration of medications to include pill line
  • Provide written and/or oral patient education information to the patients
  • Maintain cleanliness in the pharmacy and storeroom
  • Notify Health Services personnel of any problems with structural or utility malfunctions
  • Maintain accurate narcotic, needle, and syringe accountability
  • Assist in maintaining all logs within the pharmacy department.
  • All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Pharmacist Services, and in compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations.
  • Shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the Joint Commission (JC), American Correctional Association (ACA) Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions, all Bureau Policy, Clinical Practice Guidelines and Local Policy and Procedures.
