SUMMARY OF JOB
The Recreation Assistant will help the parks and recreation staff with various department functions. This is a part-time seasonal position with various hours dependent on the season. The PT - Recreation Attendant position could be placed in several areas of the Parks & Recreation Department to assist with concessions or scorekeeping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with programs
• Handles cash in the concession booth
• Handles scorekeeping for various athletic events
• Participates in light outdoor field set-up
• Provide friendly customer service and a welcoming environment to each customer
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good communication skills
• 15+ years old
• Able to pass background check

• Some recreation experience or experience dealing with the public.

• Ability to maintain effective relationships with Recreation Program Supervisor, co-workers, and parents; ability to serve as a positive role model for children.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: On-site, this position reports directly to the Facility Attendant on site.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to physically perform the basic life operations functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
• Must be able to perform sedentary and active work exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
• An employee may be exposed to outside environmental conditions, both hot and cold weather.
• Hours will vary based on the number of planned events and times for which they are scheduled.
