Part Time Accounts Payable and Accounting Assistant

Blackstone Minnesota is seeking an energetic self-motivated person to join our team at Blackstone Minnesota.

Blackstone is an energetic real estate investment firm that purchases and resells homes and apartments.

We are currently growing rapidly and have the need to add a highly detailed part-time accounts payable leader and accounting assistant to join our finance team.

The primary responsibilities will be handling all of the coding, entry and payment of vendor invoices, assisting the CFO in accounting analysis and supporting the CFO/owners in management of numerous requests/actions needed on a daily weekly basis to manage the company’s finances.

The position offers flexible work hours and the ability to work remotely except for 1 or monthly visits to the company’s Edina office location.

This is a new position which we estimate will require between 10-15 hours per week depending upon weekly business activity.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the entire accounts payable process including coding, entry and payment of vendor bills.
  • Assists our general ledger accounting team with coding customer cash receipts.
  • Provides support to our general ledger bookkeeping team as it enters cash receipts and intercompany transfers.
  • Supports CFO in cash management and optimal use of external financing as it balances cash requirements between 4 separate legal entities.
  • Maintains rent schedules including processing rent payments and monitoring applicable lease features.
  • Supports tax return preparation process.
  • Will on occasion be asked to support the preparation of data for our lending partners.
  • Other financial duties as requested by the Blackstone team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate must have the following experience, talents, and education:

  • Two years of relevant professional experience or
  • Working on or have earned associates or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • Strong numerical aptitude
  • Minimum intermediate level Excel spreadsheet creation skills
  • Tremendous attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of balance sheet accounting.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Comfort on working against weekly deadlines.
  • Comfort in working independently.
  • Interest in learning more about real estate accounting and investing.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
