We support cities with an array of services including parking studies, best practice comparisons, data analysis, incentive and pilot programs, TDM planning, financial modeling, stakeholder outreach, and developing technology, staffing, and wayfinding recommendations.
Job Summary
The Junior Associate Consultant will provide direct support to DIXON Associates as well as government agencies with their parking and transportation related issues. This role requires a self-motivated individual with an independent work ethic, capable of coordinating short‐term and long‐term project deliverables while simultaneously providing immediate, day‐to‐day contact with DIXON customers and staff.
The Junior Associate Consultant will provide field assessments, project support, and/or management in the form of planning and implementation of strategies, services, and programs that improve the parking and transportation needs of our clients. Translating complex strategies into high‐quality, concisely written deliverables is a critical component of this position. Junior Associate Consultants should be able to persuasively convey concepts, functions, features, and recommendations through their writing style.
Responsibilities and Duties
The specific responsibilities of the Junior Associate Consultant may change from time to time, requiring cooperation and adaptability as the needs of DIXON’s customers evolve. DIXON reserves the right to change, without prior notice, the assignments, duties, and reporting relationships for the Junior Associate.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the assessment, analysis, and projection of strategies, services, and program solutions to address specific parking and transportation issues;
- Analyze data and field evaluations, including utilization and turnover studies. Quantify surplus and deficient conditions and identify parking management recommendations based on current findings;
- Evaluate best practices based on comparable projects. Analyze data and support the development of policies relating to parking and transportation;
- Actively participate in project management, customer relations, business development, and company networking;
- Draft analytical and operational reports from field evaluations and data collection, including utilization and occupancy studies. Quantify surplus and deficient conditions and identify solutions based on the findings;
- Translate technical information and recommendations into clear, high‐quality, and concisely written deliverables.
- Meet with internal and external stakeholders to determine issues, concerns, and potential solutions based on project objectives; and,
- Assist with public engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience required
- Experience in public policy, transportation planning, analytics, urban planning, or related field is preferred. Knowledge of parking and transportation demand management is recommended
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong writing skills with emphasis on proper grammar, sentence structure, and formatting
- Ability to prioritize workload, solve problems quickly, stay organized, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, customer service experience, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Detail‐oriented, self‐motivated, and able to work in a deadline‐driven environment
- Willingness to take ownership of projects
- Possess a professional demeanor and attitude, with an ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Must be willing to travel
