POSITION SUMMARY

Receives requests for quotes, orders and lead times from customers; makes quotations on standard and custom items, writes orders, and relays pertinent information to customers. Coordinates with vendors as well as other internal departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers. Manages store personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Should have strong hose and fittings experience preferably with Parker products.
• Understand performance characteristics of hydraulic and pneumatic hose products in order to ensure proper selection of replacement parts.
• Have the ability to interpret hydraulic and pneumatic system schematics at a basic level in order to ensure proper function of hydraulic and pneumatic systems after hose installation.
• Provide services for both phone and walk-in customers.
• Assist with managing inventory.
• Provides leads to outside sales representatives.
• Have the ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to gain acceptance of a product.
• Place new merchandise on display; keep the Parker store neat, clean and well stocked.
• Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain functions of equipment.
• Fill customer orders from stock.
• Determine replacement parts, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers’ descriptions of needs.
• Receive and fill telephone orders for parts, install and recommend connector solutions to customers in their facilities.
• Works with Credit Department.
• Specify and fabricate hose assemblies using the onboard facilities provided.
• Resolves customer complaints within their authority range.
• Prioritizes and assigns work and other duties as necessary.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS – SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience should demonstrate proficiencies in the following areas:

• Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
• Skills to effectively present information publicly.
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
• Proper listening, oral and written skills and command of the English language.
• Capacity to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Must possess a high degree of organization.
• Ability to pay attention to details.
• Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent, advanced hydraulic degree

Experience: Five years hydraulic experience and or hands on experience in a hydraulics or related field

Product & Application Training, Hydraulics Training, Pneumatics Training, Supervisory Skills Training, Sales Training, Forklift Training, Computer System Training, Microsoft Office Training, Sales Technique, ISO Training, Certified Fluid Power Specialist

Certificates & Licenses: Certified Fluid Power Specialist

Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s License, Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record, outgoing nature, good phone skills, proficient in computer system

Other Physical Requirements: Able to travel by car within several hundred miles of their branch/store

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
