Job description
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, paleontology, earth sciences, or a closely related field (e.g., environmental science, physical geography, or geoarchaeology)
- Basic knowledge of field geology skills, measuring stratigraphic columns, and experience in recognizing fossils in the field
- Must be proficient in modern field techniques, including use of GPS receivers and database management
- Valid driver’s license, with the willingness to drive in “off-road” conditions
- Willingness to travel with the potential for extended overnight hotel stays
- Ability to endure adverse environmental conditions in remote locations, including hot and cold temperatures, precipitation, and challenging terrain for sustained durations
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail, a positive work ethic, reliability, and commitment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to change projects, roles, and/or tasks
