The Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) Analyst is responsible for equipment maintenance and systems testing, system upgrades and new software installations. In addition, the PACS Analyst is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing PACS strategy. They will provide expert consultation services to local markets and other technology resources on PACS technologies and solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- High level of expertise and knowledge on various Clinical applications with a focus as a PACS analyst
- Acts as a liaison between the Clinical Departments and Information Services Department, and provides day to day direction and support of PACS equipment image workflow analysis, archiving, auto routing, and prefetching and other related PACS activities
- Works closely with unit operations managers to ensure timely and complete capture of digital image data into the PACS system, as well as, network transmission, RIS validation, and exception handling
- Formulates, designs, and provides direction on projects requiring advanced skills in systems analysis. Interacts and consults with user departments to identify system requirements and solve moderately complex business problems
- Partners with other IT professionals and the business community to develop, maintain and implement system goals, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, workflows, etc.
- Collaborates with end user departments, other IT professionals and teams, and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve application issues
- Keeps end users informed as to the status of requested tasks and/or issues
- Partners with the business community and end users to ensure ancillary applications are properly maintained and up to date. Maintains test plans and participates in detailed testing of software updates and upgrades
- On call rotation
- Assesses new systems for compatibility with existing systems and alignment with strategic goals and vision
- Assists business community in identifying systems that meet their goals and requirements. Uses advanced technical and analytical skills to determine best approaches to tailoring systems to meet individual requirements
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge necessary to support users over the phone and desk side. Promptly answers questions and resolves problems pertaining to computers, related to both hardware and software
- Works on assigned Help Desk tickets in accordance with established SLA’s and documents all work done within the Help Desk system
- Produces and maintains accurate, complete, and timely IT and end user documentation and training materials. Performs end user training of new software applications and/or updates to existing applications
- Provides occasional off-hours support, including but not limited to systems upgrades and implementations and on call rotation
- Travels to remote sites to provide hands-on support, as needed
- Provides excellent customer service: communicates in a friendly and professional manner, empathizes with users on system issue impacts, and sets appropriate expectations on issue resolution
- Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc.
- Ability to comprehend, document, and troubleshoot complex systems operations, information flows
- Ability to employ sound practices to ensure credibility of the system
- Ability to manage projects pertaining to the information system

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience supporting PACS systems with direct interaction with radiologists and technologists planning and executing upgrades, designing business processes and planning and executing testing methodologies
- 2+ years of experience with / knowledge of clinical software applications (i.e., Powerscribe, Hologic, Epic, Radiant, Cardi Pacs, etc.), personal computers, and HIS
- 2+ years of experience with / knowledge of common operating systems, database technologies, and networking technologies
- Ability travel up to 25% of the time locally
