The Training Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Feminist Multicultural Training Program at the Women’s Resource Center. This includes outreach and promotion of the program across campus to facilitate successful recruitment and selection of advanced graduate interns/practicum students (trainees) who studying Counseling/Clinical Psychology, Social Work (MSW), and Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC), and who have a specific interest in Feminist Multicultural Counseling/Therapy. It will also include providing training and supervision for one undergraduate Social Work intern. This Training and Outreach Coordinator will provide counseling for students and, depending on availability, this individual will facilitate one support group during the academic year. This position reports to the Director of the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) and closely collaborates directly with the Assistant Director of Clinical Services.

This position is not a remote position but there is flexibility in the schedule (full-time, part-time, or 0.80 FTE). Salary to be commensurate with skills and experience as departmental budget allows. The salary range for the full-time position is $68,000 – $72,000. If the applicant prefers to work less than full-time, the salary will be adjusted and prorated based on FTE.

Responsibilities
  • Update and implement a comprehensive training model that addresses the theories and practices of feminist multicultural counseling (FMC).
  • Collaborate directly with the Assistant Director of Clinical Services and all WRC staff to assure congruence in the training and supervision of trainees (students) and clinical services.
  • Provide opportunities for trainees to participate in community engaged learning within the framework of the FMC training model.
  • Develop and facilitate a weekly clinical seminar for trainees.
  • Contribute to WRC mental wellness programming by engaging clinical interns and/or offering expertise in mental health issues .
  • Provide individual and group supervision to clinical trainees.
  • Oversee all recruitment and selection of trainees for the upcoming academic year. This includes participating in practicum fairs and outreach across campus.
  • Teach Feminist Multicultural Psychotherapy course during summer session (additional compensation is given for this course).
  • Provide individual counseling for students, and offer one support group to members of the campus and larger community.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with campus partners.
  • Engage as an active participant in the mission and vision of the Women’s Resource Center.

Minimum Qualifications
Licensed to practice as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of Utah, or a PhD in Educational Psychology or Counseling Psychology; two years related experience that includes individual and group counseling experience; acceptable credentials to supervise graduate interns; and evidence of developed specialty, or specific focus on counseling women required. Background must include experience working with a diverse community of women, i.e. women of color, age, low income, single parent, sexual orientation, religious background, and disabilities. Incumbents must have a commitment to a psycho-education approach in providing services, a strong feminist perspective in both counseling theory and the plan for delivering services.

Department Specific Qualifications
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Psychologist (Ph.D.), or Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC). Preference given to an LCSW based on current supervision needs.
  • Specialized interest, knowledge, experience, and expertise in feminist multicultural theory and practice.
  • Awareness, knowledge, and skills regarding diversity, intersectionality, and multicultural counseling. Commitment to social justice.
  • Licensed and eligible to provide clinical supervision.

Preferences
Licensure for independent practice in Utah in social work, psychology, or professional counseling is required:
  • For Social Work, have completed a Masters of Social Work and obtained licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • For Psychology, have completed an APA- accredited pre-doctoral internship in counseling or clinical psychology and obtained licensure as a Psychologist.
  • For Professional Counseling, have completed a Masters of Professional Counseling and obtained licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC).


Excellent crisis intervention and clinical skills and a strong knowledge base regarding multicultural issues are also required.

Preference will be given to those with experience working with a multidisciplinary team and providing mental health services on a college campus.
