Job Description:

As an Occupational Therapist (OTR) at our pediatric clinic, you will play a crucial role in assessing, treating, and supporting children and adolescents with various developmental, sensory, and physical challenges. You will collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans, implement therapeutic interventions, and monitor progress to help our patients reach their fullest potential. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to the overall well-being and functional outcomes of our young patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify functional limitations, sensory processing difficulties, and developmental delays in pediatric patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, incorporating evidence-based interventions, therapeutic activities, and adaptive equipment, as appropriate.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to patients, including fine motor and gross motor skill development, sensory integration therapy, self-care training, visual perception activities, and environmental adaptations.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure carryover of therapy goals and strategies into home, school, and community settings.
  • Regularly monitor and document patient progress, treatment interventions, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct parent/caregiver education sessions to provide guidance on supporting occupational therapy goals and facilitating skill development outside of therapy sessions.
  • Stay updated on the latest research, best practices, and advancements in the field of pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development activities to foster collaboration and enhance clinical skills.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Texas.
  • Prior experience or a strong interest in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools, therapeutic techniques, and evidence-based practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess patient needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Dedication to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
