About the role:
As a member of the Business Excellence team, you will execute and provide coaching for Continuous Improvement projects that support the Plasma Derived Therapy Operations strategic plan while building the Lean / Six Sigma capability across the leaders and colleagues in the organization as part of the AGILE program. You will work directly with stakeholders as a leader and change agent to improve systems and processes, enhance operational capability, and cultivate a growth mindset throughout the site. You will report to the Associate Director, Manufacturing Operational Excellence.
How you will contribute:
- Be an expert in Lean at the site and within the corporation to ensure Lean integration is streamlined and colleagues are trained in executing within the boundaries of the system.
- You will provide training and coaching on Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement principles and practices across the organization, including leadership.
- You will support business improvement through coaching of leaders and practitioners and through workshop deployments.
- Deliver Lean/Six Sigma training periodically for regional employees to develop required capabilities; this includes AGILE bootcamps
- You will support the development and delivery of site AGILE roadmaps, developing local capabilities in the AGILE Team in the process.
- You will help plan and implement improvement projects for work processes to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, and improve performance.
- Aid sites/functions in identification of highest value areas for improvement and support delivery of improvement
- You will develop resource plans, design project charters, and define milestones and SMART project targets and outcomes
- You will present project proposals that directly support the site strategy, influencing key stakeholders on direction, scope, and timing of projects.
- Ensure accurate KPI reporting for AGILE-related metrics
- Work with a cross functional team to develop and deploy new business process and improving existing business processes.
- You will lead the execution of AGILE interventions associated with rapid response
- May oversee internal documentation and manage external vendors/contractors/consultants
- May perform other responsibilities.
What you bring to Takeda:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience required in a regulated industry.
- Minimum certified: Six Sigma Green Belt / Lean Practitioner; Lean Master/ Six Sigma Black Belt certified is ideal.
- Understanding of six sigma (DMAIC)
- Expert in the theory, application/integration, and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing elements
- Demonstrated teaching and coaching skills
- Experience in a Leadership role (people, projects, teams)
- Broad knowledge of business operations (principles, practices and procedures).
- Project management skills required
- Software knowledge: Outlook, Advanced Excel (can perform complex functions) , Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- General statistical systems (ex: Minitab, JMP), JD Edwards and Trackwise is ideal
- Experience with complex projects and resolving complex issues

Important Considerations:
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
- Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
- Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
- Work in a cold, wet environment.
- Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
- May work or be assigned to a different shift to meet business needs. Must be willing to work off shift hours.
- Can work supplemental hours to complete work commitments.
- Pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
- Takeda is a global company and the facility is a 24/7 manufacturing plant as such supporting off-shift work may be required either on site or virtually with our global organizations.
- May lift, push, pull and carry up to approximately 25 lbs.
- Up to 10% Travel
