The Operations Manager will manage staffing concerns, collaborating on resource utilization, resolving performance management issues, as well as Good Samaritan University Hospital mission by collaborating with managers/nursing directors, radiology management team, radiology nurses and technologists, and radiology support personnel.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the administrative, informational, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and operational functions departments
  • Collaborate with the radiology management team, manage direct reports across three departments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards while providing safe, efficient and effective performance.
  • Manage transport, telecommunications and concierge department equipment assessment needs, acquisition, use and delivery of service.
  • Act in conjunction with appropriate ancillary and nursing departments and hospital committees to collaboratively ensure compliance with standards of care in conjunction with a safe efficient, and effective service to all patients, visitors and fellow employees.
  • Coordinate the hiring and performance management of staff to include transporters, mailroom, telephone operators and concierge staff. Develop staff scheduling programs to maximize staff and equipment utilization to minimize overtime.
  • Monitoring the budgets of transport, telecommunications and concierge.
  • Exhibit a leadership role in planning, organizing and developing the department's capital budget specific to each section's needs. Participate in planning, data collection, and the preparation of reports as appropriate.
  • Represent Transport, Telecommunications, and Concierge at assigned meetings, and other internal and external activities. Exhibit leadership behaviors and assume a liaison role with other departments to ensure ongoing lines of communication and quality improvement activities.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in Transport, Telecommunications and Concierge.
  • Champion the continuing education programs of the departments with a focus towards developing and maintaining employees' competencies as identified by the JCAHO and other continuing education monitoring organizations.
  • Act as the primary contact and activation of all emergent messages via Send Word Now.
  • Coordinate overnight sleeping accommodations for various weather emergencies for GSHMC staff.
  • Oversee activation, budget, payment and all other functions of apple beepers throughout facility.
  • Mentor supervisory staff and other subordinates in enhancing their management and leadership skills.
  • Serve as a resource to the other departmental managers as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of three years of leadership experience desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills essential.
  • Minimum of three years related experience, in a hospital setting desired
