Nurse Supervisor I
CPHC

Position is the highest level of nursing supervision and the Health Authority responsible for the daily management/operation of the facility nursing operation. Position is located at Central Prison HealthCare Complex in Raleigh, which houses approximately 1,318 close custody male offenders.

Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring professional nursing care and treatment is afforded to patients within medical policies, protocols and consistent with Board of Nursing requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Direct supervision of all nursing staff to include staff schedules, assignments, orientation, performance improvement evaluations, and clinical competency evaluations.
• Supervises and conducts needs assessments, develops, implements and evaluates treatment plans and provides patient care and education to offenders.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are followed, and submit short and long term goals to Leadership for review and approval.
• Perform administrative duties such as planning, organizing and managing daily operations, quality assurance, Human Resource management functions, and staff development.
• Required to develop and maintain effective communication and work relationships with Physicians, upper management healthcare personnel, patients, families, agencies and others.
• Ability to identify and address quality monitoring and performance improvement issues for the facility.

May be required to work any schedule to ensure medical operational needs are met at the facility level.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

The salary grade for this position is MH18. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

About the NC Dept. of Adult Correction (DAC):
The Dept. of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation & Reentry.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of nursing experience.

Pay: $65,066.00 - $107,360.00 per year
