Darling Ingredients is looking for a Night Shift Plant Maintenance Supervisor to join our plant maintenance team at our plant located in Lewiston-Woodville, NC. This is a high impact role that is responsible for supervision of drivers and fleet related activities for a designated region.

Job Summary:

Supervises the plant maintenance staff, programs and processes, in order to ensure safe, timely, and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervises the staff, processes and activities for maintaining all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation.
• Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are accomplished according to the Maintenance Manager’s direction.
• Oversees maintenance staff by observing work performance and assisting as necessary.
• Monitors and continually improves maintenance processes and maintenance personnel performance to achieve enhanced levels of efficiency.
• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Critical thinking skills, problem solving, strategy development, and implementation experience required.
• Experience implementing predictive/preventive maintenance programs.
• 2+ years Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment focused on process improvement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships at all levels and maintain a positive working environment.
• Strong computer application skills in a network environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work at heights by climbing stairs and ladders with proper PPE.
• Standing, bending and stooping for the majority of the shift.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Hot and wet environment.
• Strong odors.
• Must be willing to work all shifts including over-time and weekends as needed.
