Network Technician - Victoria KS

Our Network Operations technician will design, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment associated with our alarming and monitoring platform. This position will maintain, operate, and closely monitor Nex-Tech’s and customers installations of our alarming and monitoring platform.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of UNIX, LINUX, and Windows-based servers.
- Knowledge of Network Management Tools, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
- Skill in operating various test gear associated with transport and distribution system.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, SIP, and other protocols.
- Knowledge of network testing software including Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf and remote testing procedures.
- Knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 switching, QoS, MPLS, 802.1Q tagging, SD-WAN and transport protocols.
- Knowledge of configuration and alarming of Adtran, Calix, Cordell, or similar equipment.
- Skilled in analytical thinking, problem solving and resolving complex problems involving multiple vendors and unusual customer applications.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma plus one to three years of experience in computer/ peripheral and network support.
- A+ certification or Network + certification or equivalent required
