GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The IT System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the hardware/software infrastructure of the organization.
REPORTS TO: IT Director
SUPERVISION GIVEN: None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, and copiers. Requires normal vision, hearing, and speech range. Prolonged sitting. Some local travel to sister companies required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Office environment with frequent need to be on production plant floor
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Install/maintain servers and hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Provides assistance to resolve computer network, hardware and software problems.
  • Research and propose upgrades to the infrastructures hardware and software to ensure advanced security and efficiency using up-to-date standards.
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize conflicting demands and use resource management to complete tasks appropriately.
  • Assist in projects pertaining to infrastructure upgrades and maintenance ensuring completion within suitable time.
  • Responsible for the planning and coordination of contractor activities during onsite visits.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and mission of the organization.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
  • Requires Bachelors/Associates degree in an IT related major, technical certification or relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years related IT experience
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Concepts
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while performing duties in production areas.
