ELEMENTARY LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES

● Develop and implement curriculum according to curriculum guidelines of the Montessori method, Steamboat Montessori, and the Colorado Academic Standards. ● Engage in the teaching and learning cycle to adapt and meet the individual needs of students. ● Demonstrate understanding of and ability to implement Montessori teaching strategies plus a broad repertoire of teaching strategies that honor varied needs of children. ● Assess student performance frequently and objectively and implement an effective record keeping system of student progress in line with Montessori best practices and school-wide policies. ● Prepare an environment in which materials are complete and correspond to the needs of the group; for maintaining a clear, orderly, and attractive Montessori environment, including the care and maintenance of classroom materials and equipment, and maintaining inventory of classroom materials. ● Create an environment that demonstrates rapport with and respect and kindness for all students, as well as between students. The teacher will model and teach conflict resolution and problem-solving strategies in the classroom. ● Facilitates resolution of problems that might arise with students and parents ● Accept responsibility for the safety of the children left in their charge until dismissed to a responsible adult. ● The teacher will participate in a regular evaluation process including classroom observations, feedback conferences, and an annual self-evaluation toward goals set by the teacher and / or in conjunction with the Head of School ● Participate in professional development activities (both within the school community and via attendance at conferences, workshops, etc.) ● Establish relationships and regularly communicates with parents of students and maintains regular communication with parents regarding their child’s progress ● Provide for parent conferences, meetings and communication throughout the school year in accordance with school policy and procedures. ● Participating in community outreach activities

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
