Job description
The Merchandising Manager is an essential part of the ADC team with direct responsibility for supervising store setup, monitoring customer performance, and providing consultation to customers to increase sales. The Merchandising Manager oversees the merchandising team and coordinates with the sales team to ensure customer needs and expectations are exceeded. Must possess the ability to manage a team that fosters strong working relationships with customers and provide high level consultation on ways to improve sales. The Merchandising Manager is expected to learn all of ADC’s product and service offerings and represent the company in a professional manner. This person must be able to function well in a team environment to support the sales growth objectives of the company.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Meet with customers to adequately determine individual store layout, calculating floor plans with fixtures to meet ADA requirements and design floor plan conducive to space.
- Responsible for ordering proper shelving determined by previous discussion of floor plan.
- Arrange the delivery of shelving to coincide with store reset making sure fixtures are there in advance and available at the location prior to set date.
- Overseeing the assembly and complete stocking of shelving and racks upon delivery. Place entire opening order for new stores based on category and floor plan.
- Determine product mix allocating space by categories (candy, sweet, salty, grocery, paper, pet, cleaning, automotive, HBA and cooler products).
- Ensure that vendor contract requirements are met.
- Coordinate with warehouse and delivery managers as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies used for all store sets.
- Properly quoting customers for shelving to ensure profitability.
- Analyze data to make informed decisions in regards to planograms and SKU changes in order to ensure profitability.
- Responsible for the hiring and training of merchandising team.
- Maintaining weekly schedule for team using logistical intelligence.
- Ensuring the overall productivity of merchandising team.
- Oversee store sets to ensure time is used effectively, efficiently, and in a professional manner.
