JOB PURPOSE: Mental Health Day Treatment Rehabilitation Leader provide activities that are developed and implemented for the rehabilitation needs of consumers to enhance their abilities to meet the needs of their living in community-based environment. Using a psychosocial rehabilitative model, consumers participate in a 5-day a week, structured, clinical skill-building program that is intended to develop skills and foster social role integration through a rage of social, psycho-educational, behavioral, and cognitive mental health interventions. Rehabilitation goals for each consumer are provided in the structured day treatment program to assist consumers in maintaining independent functioning in the community. Open to all mental health consumers. Offers a safe place to relax, socialize, learn new skills, and to give and receive support from their peers. Consumers are provided classroom and community-based activities, which provides them with the abilities to meet life demands. Rehabilitation Leader must be patient and enjoy being around and with individuals whose needs vary and be willing to consistently assist the consumers in knowing that they are valued members of the society.
Daily documentation on the progress of the consumers must be completed which requires that the Rehabilitation Leaders are excellent writing skills. Documentation regarding the consumers’ daily services is required in addition to a monthly report on the progress the consumers are making. Facilitate the development of 10-15 assigned consumers’ independent living and social skills, including the ability to make decisions regarding self-care, management of illness, life work, and community participation.
Rehabilitation Leaders are expected to be creative and complete weekly scheduled curriculums based upon the identified needs of the assigned consumers. Rehabilitation must be willing to work both adult males and females whom at times can be aggressive when desirous of getting their needs met which requires staff to work closely as a team.
Rehabilitation Leaders also provide opportunities for consumers to learn about many of the district community resources by traveling to those sites by Van and public transportation. Program offers GED, prevocational activities and supports. Training on expectations for Rehabilitation Leaders is provided on a continuous basis. Special interest in recruitment of individual with Substance Abuse Services Credentials and/or experience in the provision of substance treatment group services.
A minimum of two years of college education
Two years of experience with behavior healthcare populations
Effective written and verbal communication
Creativity essential for classroom presentation
Computer literate
Compensation: Rehabilitation Leaders $17.00-$22.00 per hour for a 7-hour workday schedule (Monday-Friday)
Rotation of holidays required with in 90days probationary period before receiving benefits (Life Insurance Health Insurance, Sick and Annual Leave and Holiday)
