Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.

SUMMARY: Delegated primary responsibility to coordinate the activities of the medical staff including those which relate to regulatory compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS

1. Maintains calendar of all medical staff events, special meetings and distributes same monthly.

2. Assists Departmental and Committee Chairs in the coordination of Medical Staff Meetings.

3. Coordinate the formation and distribution of Emergency Room On-Call Schedules.

4. Handles other medical staff related functions.

5. Assist the Director Medical Staff Services, in the coordination of medical staff activities.

6. Maintains VBMC excess malpractice insurance for the medical staff.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Graduate; business school desirable; computer literate; typing, business English and stenography. Medical terminology is required.

Experience: 1-3 years of direct experience.

License: None required.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FACTORS

Physical: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

Mental: Must be able to multi-task.
