Busy orthopedic practice established in 1990, with two locations in Lauderdale Lakes, and Pembroke Pines. We have 6 board-certified/eligible surgeons, 3 Doctors of Physical Therapy, and 100+ other employees. Job Overview
Compile and review patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy for future visit, communicate with patients, and other provider offices. Keys to success are effective organizational and interpersonal skills, being able to multitask, and attention to detail. Chart checkers ensure the smooth flow of the practice by ensuring the patient has all required referrals, authorizations, test results, previous notes, etc. before their scheduled appointments.

Responsibilities
- Print and assemble patient charts (superbill, previous visit summary, imaging reports, referral, etc.)
- Verify completeness of previous visit note
- Ensure that patient's insurance has been verified in line with timetable
- Verify validity of referral on file
- Ensure reports of outside imaging facilities and other specialities have been received
- Request missing information from appropriate source
- Communicate status of missing documentation to patient
- Reschedule patient if required documents are not received
- Provide charts in need of verification to appropriate employee
- Provide Work Comp charts to Work Comp Director
- Verify provider scheduled is participating with patient's insurance
- Provide charts with credit/balances to appropriate employee

Qualifications
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year office experience (medical setting preferred)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and ability to multitask. Bilingual a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
