Medical Billing Specialist

Trillium Creek Dermatology. We are looking to hire someone to work in our Medina location.

Pay: Dependent of Qualifications $20-$25
Benefits: 401k and 401K match, paid vacation, health, vision, dental, Aflac, paid major holidays, free dermatologic care for employee and immediate family.
Hours:

· 4 or 5 weekdays Monday-Friday: 7:45am-5:00pm.

General Job Duties:

• Reviewing and correcting as needed outbound claims for certain service types for accuracy before posting
• Posting outbound general dermatology insurable charges
• Posting of patient responsible general dermatology charges
• Posting of patient responsible cosmetic dermatology charges
• Troubleshoot and correct entry of insurance
• Manage and work insurance accounts receivable to ensure timely payment of claims by insurance payers
• Communicate with insurance payers as needed via phone, website, messaging, email, chat to ensure timely payment of claims
• Review and address electronic and paper denials from insurance payers
• Review and address rejected and invalid claims
• Analyze denials and rejections to find trends and patterns in efforts to prevent them in the future
• Submit appeals as needed as a result of denied claims
• Scan/attach documents into patient charts
• Handle incoming patient inquires via phone and/or email
• Assist with calling patients to verify insurance, address, and discuss denials as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Knowledgeable of payer denial and reason codes
• Familiarity reviewing EOBs
• Understanding of insurance terms
• Experience posting using EMR/PM system
• Experience with insurance payer websites
• Familiar with ICD-10 and CPT codes and Basic Medical Terminology
• Basic understanding of patient ledgers and posting of patient payments
• Customer service and phone skills with the ability to communicate with
• Be cheerful and friendly to all patients—a high level of customer service
• Understand HIPAA and OSHA guidelines and all practice guidelines and regulations
• Basic typing skills and proficient in both Word and Excel
• Communicate with Medical Assistants, PE’s and Doctors and work well with co-workers
• Bring a high level of energy to work every day
• Attention to detail
• Treating our patients and having the highest regard for customer service respecting patient rights and sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisors quickly

Experience: Billing and/or coding certification preferred.
