Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Medical assistant/Medical Scribe supporting the Church Avenue Center located in Brooklyn, NY.

The Medical Assistant/Medical Scribe performs all clerical and information technology functions for a physician in a primary care setting, including primary responsibility for the operation of electronic health records and electronic dictation systems. Primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician.

Brief Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Medical Scribe:

• Must be able to anticipate physician needs to facilitate the flow of clinic.
• Provide the highest quality customer service to patients.
• Adheres to practice protocols and processes.
• Ability to listen to complex medical information and summarize in a clear, complete, and concise fashion.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand and accurately transcribe dictated reports.
• Translate medical observations into their expanded forms.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• This position will have some involvement in direct patient care. Must be discreet, tactful, and unobtrusive in performance of duties so as not to distract physician or other care team members from patient care. Good attendance is an important element of this job.

Minimum Education Requirement: Associate Degree
Preferred Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree
Minimum Related Work Experience: 2-4 years
Prefered Certification Requirements: Certification as Medical Scribe Professional (CMSP), Medical Coding Training or Certification, Experience with use of ECW - E-clinical works.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
