Behavioral Health Services (BHS) is a non-for-profit, community-based health care organization, whose mission is to transform lives by providing substance abuse, mental health, drug-free transitional living, family preservation, prevention and Family Health Center and other related health services to the residents of Southern California. POSITION: Medical Assistant (Full Time Regular)

SHIFT: Tuesday – Saturday @2pm – 11pm

LOCATION: Pacifica House – Hawthorne, CA

DUTIES: Performs duties under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer (C.M.O.), Physician (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.), Nurse Practitioner (N.P.), Physician Assistant (P.A.), or nurse in examination and treatment of patients. Will perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.

High school diploma or equivalency. Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance if driving personal vehicle on BHS business.

Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties. Able to sit at desk, use keyboard, write and physically perform other job duties. Able to move about the facility to observe clients and staff.

Recovering individuals must have a minimum two years clean, sober and abstinent to be considered for employment.
