PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Research, develop, and design downhole tools acquiring drilling dynamics data.
• Responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining documentation related to fabrication, assembly and testing product components.
• Work in cross-functional team for new product development.
• Ensure equipment scope and content is defined during initial design processes.
• Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
• Coordinate design projects to assure maximum utilization of engineering expertise.
• Ensure subsequent design changes are documented and transmitted as required to internal and external resources.
• Support repair and maintenance of the tool fleet with the repair and maintenance team.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years of direct experience
• Must have the ability to produce drawings conforming to ASME Y14.5, perform dimensional fit tolerance analysis, and to support design with standard hand calculations for fit, function, and structural strength
• Must have experience using solid modeling CAD software (SolidWorks is a plus)
• Ability to perform Finite Element Analyses (Ansys is a plus)
• Working knowledge of strain gauge-based measurement systems
• General knowledge of engineering concepts
• Design of downhole drilling or completions tools experience is a plus
• Design of component testing including fixture design and analysis of results

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Domestic and International travel is possible (Up to 10%)
