Desired Skills and Experience
o Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
o Mechanical design and integration knowledge
o Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling and drafting with knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
o Excellent communication (written and spoken), presentation and interpersonal skills
o Fundamental understanding of other disciplines including stress, dynamics, thermal analysis, production, electronics, systems engineering, etc.
o Current TS security clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with poly clearance; US citizenship is required
Day-to-Day
* The candidate will be responsible for supporting the mechanical integration of flight hardware throughout vehicle integration and test. This includes working towards requirements and creating component and subsystem envelope and interface drawings, installation engineering and vehicle configuration engineering. Specific tasks and responsibilities include the following:
o Generate/update solid models using ProE/CREO, create/revise detailed drawings and release engineering work products in EPDM
o Review requirements from various sources (dynamics, stress, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.), working with stakeholders to capture critical needs, and ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of the products
o Perform detailed tolerance stack ups and close clearance analyses to verify the feasibility of design integration
o Must be able to work effectively in an integrated product team environment
o Must collaborate effectively with program leadership, technical leadership, subject matter experts, peers, analysis, configuration control, procurement, planning and integration and test teams to ensure technical requirements, cost objectives, and program schedules are met.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $100.00 per hour
