Summary: The Marketing, Events and Communications Manager at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Seattle King County (SVDP) plays a critical role in supporting the growth of our of donors, partners and supporters. This role will be responsible for creating and delivering first-rate event experiences of hosted and industry events, in-person and/or virtual - that align with SVDP mission statement, key business goals, donors and leadership. This position also develops and implements the organization's marketing plans that leverage social media outlets. This role will develop and manage the strategy and production of publications, social media and other communications to support internal and external marketing and advocacy efforts. The position will partner with the Executive Director and the Development team to create, manage and promote a calendar of activities to highlight the important work being done by SVDP.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position shall include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed:
● Research target audience and discover current trends. Ensure SVDP website content is current, maintained and updated and aligns with SVDP’s organizational priorities, brand, tone, and messaging.
● Maintain donor database and run donor reports. Develop effective relationships with existing and prospective individual and corporate donors. Regularly welcome new donors and provide the opportunity for additional engagement with SVDP. Analyze donors giving patterns. Develop, calendar, and execute a donor plan for all annual fund solicitations and donor development.
● Direct the development of individual event strategies, including recommending event format and engagement strategy. Ensure events are properly aligned to and in support of SVDP mission statement and business goals.
● Manage event lifecycle through execution and post-event activities, organizing debrief sessions with partners, and communicating results to leadership.
● Manage the marketing and communication strategies. In conjunction with the Executive Director, develop strategic organizational messaging and communication plans, calendar, and activities, identify and develop compelling stories and content that reflect SVDP’s strategic priorities, messaging, and image.
● Uphold SVDP values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in every aspect of your work and use these values to guide and evaluate content.
● Oversee and contribute to the creation of accurate, compelling marketing materials. Materials may include proposals, brochures, one-pagers, reports, signage, and presentations.
● Maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders to ensure awareness, engagement, and cohesion. Develop strategies that strengthens community voices and translate messaging across platforms and audiences.
● Establish procedures, guidelines and other marketing-related process improvement tools. Evaluate organizational effectiveness at reaching strategic marketing and communications outcomes, as well as the impact of fundraising efforts.
● Develops and maintains online content that attracts attention, generates interest, and is easily shared with social networks. Establishes relationships with members of the online community.
● Monitor performance of marketing tactics, constituent feedback, and market trends; interpret results to inform fundraising and marketing strategies.
● Attend public outreach events as needed. Draft media releases, advisories, and talking points memos.
● Write targeted, engaging and effective communications for SVDP email lists and social media networks with a goal to grow SVDP presence.
● Create presentation materials to support key meetings such as donor events and board meetings. Develop templates and marketing toolkits for partner organizations.
● Manage digital photo and video collection; assist with the development of videos for projects and events.
● Develop, produce, and publish print and digital communications pieces and campaigns, including the annual report, appeal letters, newsletters, event publications, social media posts, and website enhancements.
● Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
● Other Duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
● A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in social media, marketing and communications
● A minimum of 3-5 years digital marketing and communications tools including experience with analytics and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter), web design platforms, email systems, photo and graphic design.
● Ability to develop effective organizational work plans and manage multiple projects with moving parts.
● Great attention to detail while maintaining the big picture.
● Strategic and collaborative thinker.
● A successful candidate will be proactive, have a strategic mindset, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrate comfort with ambiguity, and be able to manage events of varying formats and size.

Education/Experience
The ideal candidate will have a BA inMarketing, Events, Communications or related field, 3+ years of proven experience.
Language Ability
This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ease in addressing groups of clients and communicating with diverse workgroups. Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, safety manuals, and regulations. Must have the ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Math Ability
The individual in this position must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as fraction, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must be able to understand common financial reports, payroll records, and cash management reports.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to solve practical problems quickly and in situations where limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office software is required.
