We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Technology Engineer/Scientist to join our Towanda, PA team. The DuPont Towanda Plant is a highly leveraged film coating facility in the Electronics and Communications business. The successful candidate will provide engineering support to the products and processes on site and will be the technical lead for the product or equipment specific for issues related to the high-quality, low-cost production of the coated film or other products manufactured on site.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Works on continuous improvement of equipment Safety, Reliability, and cost to drive improved safety, yields and uptime of given production asset/s.
- Investigate and problem solve mechanical process issues.
- Implement mechanical programs to improve quality and product performance. Utilize Six Sigma methodology where appropriate.
- Monitor production performance and act proactively to correct trends or changes in product performance versus specifications.
- Analyze and review asset reliability annually at Quality Review.
- Track and manage critical independent variables to assure high yield.
- Lead safety/quality investigations from internal mechanical deviations.
- Mechanical Process link between Business and Technical Engineer.
- Develop a data-based understanding of how the mechanical process elements affect product performance at the customer.
- Use that understanding to continuously improve the production process and work with Product Technician to improve product development.
- Provide manufacturing inputs for new product / process developments and lead manufacturing evaluations during appropriate phase of new product development.
- Responsible for the mechanical operation of a given production area, including equipment performance, asset capability and process safety management.
- Provide input to area standard operating procedures.
- Manage equipment related uptime issues. Recommend and implement uptime improvement projects.
- Recommend and implement upgrades to equipment that can contribute to improved performance, reduced cost of manufacture or higher quality.
- Ensure complete management of change, process hazards assessments and pre-startup safety reviews for new process components or upgrades to existing equipment.
- Assist in the resolution of process or equipment related customer complaints.
- Troubleshoot issues on production lines quickly and with minimized downtime.
- Contribute to maximizing machine related uptime.
- Work with operations to solve recurring problems on production line.
- Participate as a lead role in the plant Process Safety Management committee.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree(s) in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience in process/product development.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills.
- Demonstrated leadership of teams.
- Six Sigma methodology
- Self-motivated to identify issues and develop corrective programs.
