WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Manager, Bankruptcy Team Management is responsible for the coaching, development, training and motivation of Managers and Bankruptcy Team Members with the objective of optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of people and processes, to achieve the highest standards of service and execution. The successful Manager, Bankruptcy Team Management will model leadership behaviors and balance the development of their teams and the people with the drive to enhance the customer experience with process improvement and efficiency in a highly regulated environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises, trains, and develops a team of Managers in leadership skills and reporting competencies to maximize customer and employee experience.
Coordinates and manages the implementation of major initiatives impacting the department
Ensures that the Bankruptcy department achieves department and company goals, leveraging reporting and analytics, as well as, the strengths and opportunities of the individuals within the department.
Collaborates with internal business partners, outside agencies, attorneys, and leadership to get ahead of trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
Proactively escalates trends or service gaps to leadership team and keeps key stakeholders informed.
Ensures policies, procedures and practices comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Bankruptcy Code and accounts are consistently treated in accordance.
Maintains a working knowledge of state and federal laws impacting the handling of accounts in pre and post charge off status, including Chapter 13, Chapter 11, and Chapter 7 accounts.
Collaborates across department lines and cultivates relationships to help quickly resolve issues that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Develops and drives initiatives to maintain low attrition and increase employee engagement.
Ensures that Managers are properly engaged with their team and completing all necessary steps in the performance management process and meeting the needs of the individual.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Or equivalent experience; Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree

EXPERIENCE:
5-9 years demonstrated leadership and management skills, including training and mentoring skills to coach the staff
5-9 years’ experience in auto-finance, Bankruptcy or equivalent experience

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.
