The Maintenance Unit Leader will have 24/7 accountability for their business unit results in the areas of Human and Food Safety, People, Service, and Budget. They will be responsible for managing and improving the results within their area as needed to contribute to the overall plant CBN and journey map. In this role they will manage the maintenance team and the asset care strategy (ACS) behind our equipment. This person will work to grow the capability of the people in their area, drive consistency across the greater maintenance department, drive our loss elimination strategy using our given RCA tools, and ensuring our team is making strategic based decisions based on data from SAP and Zarpac.

Basic requirements within role:
  • Arrive at plant 2-3 hours prior to DDS. (Walk the floor to connect with techs and operators after pulling DDS data)
  • Run Daily Labor Report
  • Look at "actual work entered" tab
  • Check that all technicians entered their time and completed work orders
  • Check to see if all scheduled work was completed
  • Look at Safety, GMP, and waiting on approval notifications. - Approve or send out follow ups
  • Run Daily DDS Tool
  • Go to floor and spot check planned work orders completed in last 24 hours
  • Lead shift handoff meeting
  • Review Reactive Maintenance (RM) work performed over last 24 hr. period
  • Review planned work performed over last 24 hrs. (provide feedback from floor audit)
  • Review any deficiencies in mechanics reporting of their time or comments.
  • Review scheduled work for next 24 hrs. (set expectations and check for understanding)
  • Populate DDS board numbers
  • Develop plan for the day
  • Be prepared to answer questions around any items your BUL may ask based on the information on the board keeping in mind that the Lead Tech (AA) should address any RM follow ups
  • Safety plan
  • Review all open Safety/GMP workorders (Get to next status)
  • Schedule PM's
  • Reschedule any uncompleted work orders as needed
  • Scheduling - Each mechanic should be scheduled 55% of their time assigned to the person (not the shift or department) providing there is a backlog to support it
  • This is for every day they work including when you're not here (weekends, holidays, and vacations)
  • Best case MUL's need to be scheduling 7 days in advance and making adjustments through the week as needed
  • Minimum expectation is 3 days in advance
  • Work on any open BE's/A3's
  • Own the updating of Job Plans, estimated labor time, frequency and parts needed on completed work from last 24 hrs. (ACS Health)
  • This responsibility starts with the MUL however should be largely driven by the MX planner
  • Build plan and execute 90-day goals
  • All core work in the 90-day plan must have a BE or A3 completed on it
  • Push for steady progress with our ACS work
Reconnect
  • Be prepared to report out on your priorities from the day
  • If they were not complete be prepared with a plan and timing to have them completed.
  • Share work schedule for next day
  • Discuss downtime and resource needs for upcoming PM's
  • Review BE/A3 status get commitments on any countermeasure steps
  • Share updates made to PMs/work orders
  • Communicate plan for nights
Additional weekly duties:
  • Kronos
  • Training for techs and operators
  • Health Checks (reviewing completed work on the floor)
  • Management meetings
  • 90-day planning
  • Complete owner of departments ACS program
  • Developing AA's through 1:1 meetings, training, and priority setting
  • Holding yourself and the rest of your DDS team accountable for their *plan for the day* at reconnect
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of Maintenance/Engineering Experience in a Leadership Position
  • Maintenance experience with a strong understanding of various plant functions
  • Strong drive and initiative to make improvements in a variety of areas with a minimum of supervision.

  • Above average knowledge of computer database system tools, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills

Salary Ranges:
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$61,800.00 - $108,200.00
An individual’s base pay depends on a number of factors, such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation, such as a performance-based bonus and other short- and long-term incentives. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401(k), and wellness benefits beginning on one’s first day of employment.
