The Role:
General Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for determining what work will be performed and when it will be executed based on established maintenance strategies, business priorities and budgetary guidelines. This role plans and builds schedules to ensure the work can successfully be completed while maximizing resource allocation and minimizing equipment downtime. The planning and scheduling of these activities will align with the site’s Zero EHS impact and Zero Failure philosophy to enable the site to maximize its production output at the lowest total cost of ownership.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planner/Scheduler Functional Role
- Planning and coordinate activities to aligned with EHS compliance and continuous improvement principles
- Generate and issue preventive/predictive maintenance work orders
- Review all approved corrective work notifications and convert to work orders for planning / scheduling / execution
- Review work requests with Production to identify all potential issues/reduce added scope
- Confirm material availability and coordinate parts/materials delivery and staging
- Planning and scheduling processes are aligned with site business imperatives
- Develop new job plans – Maintain job plan library (Task Lists)
- Maintain accurate equipment specifications, info, and parts lists (BOMs)
- Manage the ready backlog – Keeps the pipeline full
- Develop work packages and templates for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and execution of maintenance work. This includes partnering with the storeroom, arranging all contractors & resource requirements in accordance with SIG’s established guidelines and maintenance procedures
- Maintain accurate equipment maintenance history SAP
- Champion the implementation of all maintenance activities through proactive work order planning as per the defined maintenance strategies
- Support in the acquisition of new equipment as required and secure the delivery dates
- Participate in & support reliability processes as required
- Support the development and maintain accuracy of the maintenance budget & forecast
- Evaluate job feedback to improve future work plans
- Support the tracking and achievement of maintenance KPI’s

- Partner to lead LEAN/Six Sigma, continuous improvement of processes and operations for increased productivity and efficiency (Operational Excellence)
- Actively participates in a culture of continuous improvement through collaborative engagement and by providing suggestions in meetings and trainings to improves processes and systems
- Ensures planning work is accomplished through defined, measured, and continuously improved work processes; proactively identifies and leverages best practices developed across SI

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required (certified technician)
- AAS or BS preferred
- Minimum of 3 years general craft experience (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument)
Software Skills:
