Reedsburg Area Medical Center is recruiting a full-time Maintenance Mechanic III team member to join our Environmental Services Department!

Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
On-Call: Rotating

Position Summary*:
The Hospital/RASLC Maintenance III position shall, under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services, assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the physical plant building and equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic III assists in the completion of projects, as assigned. He/she will work with bio-medical equipment and bio-medical contractors to identify and correct deficiencies while maintaining state and TJC standards. Maintenance Mechanic III needs to have a good mechanical background to learn the operation and maintenance of physical plant equipment. Prior boiler and chiller operation and repair are a plus. This individual will also have a working knowledge of the Building Management System, fire alarm system, and medical gas system, and be well-versed in corrective measures to be taken in the event of a utility failure. This position must operate with the comfort of patients, residents, visitors, and RAMC employees in mind. Every consideration shall be given to good energy conservation practices in the operation of the facility, its physical plant, and the maintenance of its equipment. Any deficiencies shall be communicated immediately. All staff members shall, perform their duties, and adhere to the Medical Center’s policies and all applicable (local, state, and federal) codes. He/she performs preventative maintenance and repairs nursing home and hospital equipment, including but not limited to: general repairs, plumbing/electrical problems, and building repairs, i.e. plaster walls/ceilings, tiling floors, etc.

Job Relationships*:

  • Reports to Director of Environmental Services; collaborates with all coworkers of the Environmental Services and all other departments of RAMC.

Education and Training Required:

*

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

*

  • Requires a strong mechanical background
  • Five (5) years experience in facility management operation preferred.
  • HVAC experience preferred.
  • Strong background and knowledge in physical plant operation preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Capable of assisting in small remodeling projects, which could include building walls, electrical, and some plumbing.
