Salary: $60,000 – $85,000 per year based on experience

Purpose

The plant maintenance of Hampton Farms is involved in the maintenance of the facility and equipment of the Plant. Plant maintenance is a critical position in Hampton Farms food quality and safety systems. Being a producer of peanuts and peanut products, the maintenance manager is aware of risks involved with regard to keeping all areas of the facility including equipment in good working order by using preventive maintenance techniques, daily checklists, and proper repair procedures. Plant maintenance are trained in various SOP’s pertaining to the job and equipment required. This position reports to Plant Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to work in a safe manner, adhering to all safety regulations and requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair single and three phase electrical equipment
  • Ability to maintain and improve process equipment
  • Fabricate metal
  • Weld; including stick, mig, tig, and plasma arc
  • Complete assigned daily tasks using a daily checklist and/or schedule.
  • Understand each piece of equipment, learn how it works and disassemble each piece as needed per the SOP’s.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in training new maintenance employees.
  • Document all tasks completed using the Preventive Maintenance Program and Work Order System
  • Clean, sanitize, and do a part and tool reconciliation after work has been completed.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
  • Use Lockout / Tag out procedures when repairing equipment.
  • Communicate with maintenance on issues related to the facility such as daily maintenance concerns, and facility or grounds maintenance.
  • Help fellow employees in other areas when needed
  • Any other work assigned by the maintenance manager

  • Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures
  • General knowledge of SOP’s for all pieces of equipment for each line in the production area.
  • General knowledge of SOP’s for the entire facility.
  • Work in conjunction with production manager and quality assurance department as well as other Hampton Farms team members supporting warehouse requirements of Hampton Farms Peanut Company.
  • Partnering with other Hampton Farms team members in being committed to delivering the best possible experience to our customers and employees in support of our mission, vision, and values.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Preferably Food Experience (SQF or similar)
  • Manufacturing & Logistics Experience
  • 10-20 years’ of experience preferred.
  • An experienced self-starting, self-directed, quick learning maintenance personnel.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-craft environment, be technically sound, and detailed oriented.
  • Technical skills in e-learning and mobile training.
  • Analytical and systematic thinker.
  • Energetic, driven, and accountable.
  • Team player, self-motivated, and exceptional communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Solution oriented: working until a problem is solved or outcome achieved finds alternative ways to complete a task.
  • Familiar working with Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office environment along with duties that will require the incumbent work in a plant environment where physical hazards such as production equipment and forklifts may be present.
