Summary: Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, mechanical and electrical systems in industrial setting. Works with Engineers assisting with major repairs and new equipment installation. Maintenance Leads supervise and coordinate activities of Maintenance Specialists engaged in the same activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of specialist on their shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees (personal development plan); planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and developing annual objectives for subordinates and self; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems, and entering personal time off in Kronos.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Takes line maintenance calls, assesses issues with Production Team Leaders and assigns qualified available resources.

Provides performance management for direct reports through the clear communication of expectations; provides timely written/verbal feedback including discipline, positive recognition, and scheduled performance reviews; identifies employee development opportunities.

Oversees reports on work performance for accuracy and completeness utilizing Fiix.

Monitors and compares job time estimates vs. actual time spent on jobs and communicates with planner and determine root cause of difference.

Issues and prioritizes daily PM’s, CM’s and process improvement work orders.

Enters calls and appropriate details in the Maintenance log.

Attends daily production start-up meetings.

Ensures, through diligent follow up, that all new or outstanding maintenance issues are brought before the Technical Support staff, Production and Engineering department for timely resolution.

Carries out project work assigned by Maintenance Manager.

Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met while demonstrating an appropriate level of urgency.

Accountable for daily maintenance plan schedule adherence.

Works in a safe manner, following all safety policies and procedures while keeping in mind other’s safety as well.

Ensures employee safety by advocating safe behavior through the enforcement of safety policies and procedures, the identification of safety hazards, the documentation of safety deviations, and by providing safety training to employees if needed.

Reports any accidents and potentially unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to appropriate supervisor.

Performs incident scene investigations as needed.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
Is able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Is able to write routine reports and correspondence. Is able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Is able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Is able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:
Is able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Is able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of common manufacturing software (spreadsheets, word-processing, programmable logic controllers). Will learn and use our programs daily.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Powered Industrial Equipment license will be required. Electrical Safety Certification required.

Other Skills and Abilities:
Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems such as 3-phase, AC/DC voltage, transformers, motors, starters, relays, etc.
