Location: Blairsville Hatchery, Blairsville GA
Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday including holidays
Hours: 5PM to 3AM or until job is complete. Typically this position averages 40 hours a week.
Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
Starting Wage: $17.25
Plus, additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.

Position Summary:
-
This position is responsible for assisting in installing, repairing, and servicing all hatchery equipment. Conducts equipment service per PM schedule; orders supplies and maintains inventory; performs housekeeping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment; and coordinates major repairs with external vendors.
- Candidates must reside within the current recruitment area to include the following counties: Union, Rabun, Fanning , Townes, GA and Clay, Cherokee, NC
- Candidates with agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.
- Candidate must have at least twelve consecutive months of work experience with the same employer and no additional gaps in employment greater than six months with the last 36 months
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Calibrate hatchers and setters. (15%)
-
Change and clean setter and hatcher spray nozzles. (10%)

Do temperature checks on setters before eggs are set and assist with setting eggs. (20%)

Make sure all setter buggies are being correctly placed, all curtains are in the right position, all air lines are hooked correctly and all buggies are connected. (15%)

Perform and maintain the PM program. (20%)

Calibrate pumps for dispensing chemicals and change single and three phase motors as needed. (10%)

Be on-call as needed, assist with the emptying of the offal tank, assist Maintenance Supervisor with duties as assigned dispense Formaldehyde, maintains foot pans and hand sanitizer, maintain a clean and organized work area. (10%)

TSA: Must agree to submit to a Security Threat Assessment (100%)

Respirator certification is required and maintained by testing on an annual basis.
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements:
The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.

Physical: Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs. and must be able to push/pull 1000-1500 lbs. (on wheels). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend over; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.

Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required when handling chemicals. Ear plugs will be used as needed.

Chemicals Commonly Used: Formaldehyde is in use at the facility, disinfectant, lubricants and virocid.

Safety: Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respitory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment. Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks.
